Some Tips On Staying Safe On YouTube

As YouTube and other online video sharing sites are growing, more and more people are think yes this is an area I want to get into, and put a few videos up online. Now please do not get me wrong there is nothing wrong in this at all, and to be honest the more people share their videos the more the sites will grow, and only good can come out of that.

But before you get your camera you need to sit down and think to yourself what am I going to do with the video I am about to shoot and what purpose will it serve me and the people who will be watching it.

The main item you need to consider is who will be watching your videos, and who will be sharing your video with the world. Now I can see the marketers out their and how a light bulb has just gone on saying wow........But stop and think do you really want your video viewed by 1,000's of people?

Now for instance you take your video out on a Hen or Stag night and film people having fun and getting drunk, and while you are still in a fun filled mood you crash back at a house and upload this video, for people to have a good laugh at, but then the next few days it suddenly hits you what you have done, and you and your mates have second thoughts, and take the video, down.

Yes you are allowed to remove the video, and yes as soon as you click delete it is gone off the site, it could be too late. 1,000 could have seen the goings on and worst still parents or bride or bride groom could have seen what really happened at the party......... Do you want this. And even though it may have been deleted, people could have already have downloaded. And they have have shared it with other people on the internet.

Another downside in posting personal video blogs is people and strangers get to know you, and get to know you very well, and if you are not careful you could give away where you live, by just filming outside your house or by a local famous landmark. If you go down the Video blog route please keep your own safety at the forefront of your mind at all times.

I know this article may seem very negative about posting videos on YouTube, please do not let it put you off, just think before you shoot, and think would I mind my Grandmother or boss seeing me do this.

Have fun, and just start uploading your videos.
